I have installed sk1 on my laptop with Ubuntu 11.10 / GNOME Shell. Every time I'm trying to save a file, sk1 falls. I have run it in terminal and receive the following:

[email protected]:~$ sk1
shared memory images supported
Cairo surfaces are initialized!

(sK1 - Save file As...:18197): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to retrieve the file info for `file:///home/alexander/New%20Document%201.sk1': Error stating file '/home/alexander/New Document 1.sk1': No such file or directory
Segmentation fault

Ara you guys shore that you Unix user from which you running is actually owner of folder where you trying to save file.
I.e. you have runing sk1 as alexander and not: root, petya, vasya, rajesh etc. ?
